Promotion of Science and Innovations / Training a New Generation of Biotechnologists

Sicor Biotech supports the development of modern biotech pharmaceutical industry in the country providing its knowledge and experience. It closely collaborate with various scientific establishments engaged in fundamental biotech science and facilitate the improvement of study programmes in the field of biotechnology, gene engineering, and other similar fields at Lithuanian universities.

Sicor Biotech initiated the establishment of Bioengineering Department at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) in 1994. The students at VGTU use Sicor Biotech scientific foundation for the preparation of their final works. Sporadically Sicor Biotech supports the laboratories of Lithuanian Universities by donating them equipment and reagents.

In collaboration with NGOs, universities, scientific institutions, and schools, Sicor Biotech contributes to the education of the young generation. The company organises tours for pupils and students to promote career choices in the field of science among young people by demonstrating the process of development of new drug products.

Sicor Biotech has become one of the initiators and sponsors of Tree of Life, an award for achievements in natural and medicinal science, to help to recognise the brightest minds in Lithuanian science and business and to contribute to the development of science.

Community Relations

Located in Trakų Vokė town neighbourhood, the Sicor Biotech Scientific Centre maintains close relations with the municipality and local education institutions.

Environmental Policy

Sicor Biotech takes extra care to be environment-friendly; it invest into water supply preservation systems. Our company monitors and limits energy consumption, sorts its waste and takes other measures to promote a clean and health environment. Sicor Biotech is currently on its way to become an ISO 14001 compliant company.

Teva applies an especially strict policy regarding the recycling of work tools and materials. Our labs operate under the Good Biological Practice principles, local legal requirements, and strict internal standards governing the management of work tools and materials; we strive for safety of our employees and the entire working environment and apply the "zero environmental damage" principle.
